The basic Krav-Maga Self-Defence instructor's course is 180 hours in duration. This is split into 3 parts. 2 separate 9 day sessions followed by a 5 day session. These are usually spaced out over a period of 3 months. In most cases the course is carried out in the UK (Locations can vary depending on the locality of the majority applicants). In some cases one of the parts may be carried out in Natanya , Israel at the IKMF HQ. The current cost of this course (All instruction and course materials only) is £1850.00.

Recommended entry level qualities:
- At least P3-P4 grade level experience or 2-3 years experience in Krav Maga.
- Good communication skills, with either good knowledge of the system.
- A friendly and approachable personality as an existing instructor in another system.
The graduates of the course will join the IKMF local branch and operate under our simple regulations including a monthly subscription to the IKMF (UK & Rep of Ireland). Minimum entry level qualities:
- Background - 4 years in another fighting system such as Boxing or Kick-boxing.
- Good punching and kicking abilities in combat systems.
- Candidates are approved by the IKMF UK
- No Criminal record (CRB certificate will be required as proof)
- An interview and your attendance at a potential instructor training day
- The ability to fund the course, including your hotels and travel
- Teaching or instructing background
Note: (In Europe and Australia, the average age of the participators is around 30 years old, with a background of 8-10 years in other systems but there may be exceptions.
